How to cook a whole-wheat pâté for your next meal

In the kitchen, it can take a long time to whip up a pâte.

But if you want to keep your favorite recipes on hand for later, a whole wheat pâtière makes a great addition.

Ingredients 1 large white onion, finely diced 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 medium carrots, diced 1 red bell pepper, diced 2-3 large tomatoes, diced (use your favorite tomatoes) 3 cups of vegetable stock 2 tablespoons olive oil 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon black pepper 3 cups whole wheat bread crumbs 2 tablespoons minced fresh thyme Directions In a large pot, combine the onions, garlic, carrots, bell pepper and tomatoes.

Season with salt and pepper.

Add the vegetable stock and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes, until the onions and carrots have softened.

Add more vegetable stock if necessary.

Remove the pot from the heat and transfer to a bowl.

Meanwhile, prepare the bread crumb mixture.

In a bowl, combine all the ingredients except the thyme and rosemary.

Using a fork, mash the breadcrumbs together.

Add to the pâttière.

Notes If you have the time, I also recommend using your favorite tomato sauce.

You can use it to flavor your pâtinés or just add to your own dishes.

If the bread is too dry, add more water.
